Pellet Road Media creates web sites primarily for individuals and small businesses. Depending on your needs, we provide you with a web presence in a very short amount of time. In addition to providing static content (web pages that are informational and do not exchange data between the visitor and the hosting server) we can also provide interactive (dynamic) sites. Dynamic sites are those that can recognize your visitor (typically via a log in) and provide personalized information to that user or permits the user to perform functions such as purchasing items on your site.
An interactive or dynamic site typically requires the use of a database and a programming language to execute the business logic you dictate. An example of business logic would be that you want visitors to be able to register and create a logon id and password. The logon id and password need to be stored someplace and that place is a database. In order to execute the logic to perform these tasks, a programming or scripting language is required. Pellet Road would typically use a language known as PHP in combination with the MySQL database, although depending on your needs the use of Java and other databases such as Oracle are possibilities.
